Yes !
You need the Networker Poweredition and two storagenode Licenses.
Fibrechannel attached Library is recomended.
You may also need dds licenses (one per Tapedrive that should be shared between storagenodes).
Hi 605,
you are right, only one active Networker Serverprocess is allowed on a cluster, the second node can be an active Storage Node. So there is some "activity" on both cluster nodes.
So it depends on the definition of active/active.
special thanks for your quick answers
by active/active I mean the following :
We thought initially about failover so we installed networker on cluster.
Now we have one server that backs up data and the other that is waiting all the time,
My hope is to use it also so I minimize the charge on the first and in the same time my solution won't stop if the first stops.
thaks
To a060463xyz:
You are right - that's why i do not like term like active/active at all unless you add the environment or task information.
To ElHedi:
Using the other node as storage node is possible. However, this depends also on other configurations like
- clients' storage node lists
- pools
- and especially the device selection for a pool
Worst case you must dynamically reconfigure with nsradmin.
