In addition to Mike's link, remember that if the data store is a real SERVER (link SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) then VFP can act as a client front end. However, when using VFP's tables then ALL the is processing done on the client side (unless you've got an intermediate COM server doing it).
