Have upgraded a compact plus (old type with separate wiring box ie x2 1 metre amphenol cables) with rls 5 software and rls 4 cli cards but am still unable to display cli. Have programmed cli and checked match from provider which is ok. Any ideas ? many thanks.

yes, also have cli telephone teed into the line so I can see cli is working, thanks though

Now that you know it works try it without the test phone tied to the line.

You have to turn on id for each set and each line on that set that is ringing.

hi, have done all and still won't display caller id, thanks

Are the switch settings on the card set for North American?

On pre 6.0 systems you cannot make CID display on the phone automatically before picking up the handeset.
6.0 and above gives you the programming option "Caller ID Y/N" on a per set basis. Pre 6.0, if the line is programmed as a ringing line on a set, the user can press F811 and see the caller id before answering, or you can program F811 on a button for a single press.

Pre 6.0 only gives you the option to define one telephone as the CID set, and that is defined under the "Lines" heading on a per-line basis.

What concerns me is your description. You mention a seperate "wiring box". That sounds to me like a 616 or 824 with DR5 software and a CID unit, not a compact ICS. If that the case, I've slept too much since then to comment.

Here we go again.
CID has always worked on the CISC properly. It is only the MICS that had problems prior to 6.0.
This has been covered many, many times. Nothing has changed.

Here in the uk after the norstar compact 6x16, a compact plus was introduced with separate wiring Box Connection 301, after this the new compact plus with internal wiring unit was introduced. we are now up to software level 5, thanks for the info I will check my programming.
