In XP, with the Welcome Screen turned off, if you click Start --> Shutdown, the next selection you make (Restart, Shutdown, etc) is remembered. That is, if you select "Restart", the next time you go to that screen, "Restart" is the default option.

In Vista, using Classic Start Menu, when I click Start --> Shutdown and change the selection from "Shutdown" to "Restart" and reboot, the next time I go back "Shutdown" is still the default.

Any way to change this behavior so it remembers the last selection? Or at least force it to choose "Restart" by default?

Weird that they changed the behavior... thanks for confirming for me, linney.
