Hello

I have a few questions about Cisco Call Manager 7.

I recently installed Call Manager 7 on a server to practice on. Our current setup uses Cisco 7940 Phones, however we use them on "3CX" as our PBX and the phones have the SIP protocol installed on them. We currently have a SIP Trunk service CallCentric.Com we plug this sip information from them into 3cx via the web gui set the phones to connect to the ip of the 3cx pbx and there ya have it. I've not had time to completely go through the Web GUI for CM7 but is this setup the same way or do I need another piece of hardward to make this work the same way? I know I'll have to switch back to the SCCP protocol on the phones, but I'm trying toget an idea of how this is setup. I plan to eventuall get certified. Any suggestions or help would be greatful.

I'm not sure on all your questions but if you have the SIP firmware on the phones, they will work with UCM 7. UCM 7 supports SIP or SCCP. You may lose a couple features running the 7940 as SIP but it will work.

yes my question is this? Where in UCM 7 do I plug in my SIP Trunk phone service servers, etc?

I was just looking around on the net. Do I need to have the server that has Call Manager 7 installed on it, and then get a cisco router to enable the voip settings on it, then connect the two to dial in and out?

You should be able to build a SIP trunk between the UCM and the SIP provider. It is in the UCM 7 GUI under the Device menu.

I checked this out tonight but it asked for the server address but no username/password or the phone number, etc? any idea?
