IPO V2 R6.0(8)

Will the IPO not display the caller ID name? I recently replaced a 10 year old Telrad that displayed both name or number and i'm using the same circuit to feed the IPO but can't get anything but the CID Number.

Anyone have any ideas?

PRI I guess?
do you use NI-2 or DMS100 if you use NI-2 try DMS100 instead, just a guess though

Yes, PRI NI2. With my old system I could choose between name or number. I don't find with the IPO that you have a choice. I did try DMS100 for the heck of it and it did some funky stuff with the outbound CID, so I had to change it back. It seems like such a small thing for Avaya to overlook. I can't believe no one else cares about CID Name delivery. It's very useful in our business.

Thanks for your feedback Joe.

So just for closure on this one;

Is it safe to conclude that the Avaya IP Office 500 v2 will NOT display incoming caller ID Name information? Only number?

I don't find it documented anywhere.

the IPO will show both on NI2. we do it all the time. Check your incoming call routes. make sure there is not a B in the tag field. For some reason that gets added sometimes.

Hmm, well that gave me hope Kevin. There are no B's in the call route but the fact that it works for you gave me cause to once again open a ticket with the carrier, and you guessed it, they weren't sending it. I had explicitly asked during the turn up to make sure this was on and they assured me that it was. But it just reinforces what i've alway known and should've remembered, "the carriers lie".

Thanks again for responding, i just couldn't get anyone to confirm that it should work on the IPO and couldn't find and doc on it.

Preshate your help.

Have you tried going into monitor to see if the name and number are being sent?

I did, and I could see that it wasn't coming through, but the carrier insisted that it was setup, therefore I doubted. But after Kevin replied to my earlier msg. I opened a new case with the carrier and the tech I got told me right away that it wasn't set. So he set it to send and now it's coming through fine.

I'm new to the IPO and wasn't sure if it allowed Name delivery, and no one could answer my question plus i couldn't find it in any docs so i just wasn't sure until Kevin said that it worked for him all the time, then i knew at least that it should work. Before i wasn't even sure it could.

thx for responding,

Rodd
