Chronic Static

This problem may well be the cause of my upcoming nervous breakdown....

I have an Option 11 with one expansion cabinet, one PRI and one P2P tie line (T-1). Incoming callers on the PRI hear static. Users on the Option 11 cannot hear any static - it's one-way. There is no internal static and there is no static over the tie line, only over the PRI.

Here are the steps I have taken to resolve - all have been unsuccessful.

1. Called telco, tested clean to NIU (they've been out three times because I was sure it was them).
2. Changed riser pairs (twice) and T-1 cable to NIU.
3. Changed biscuit at demarc.
4. Removed CSU (actually, I'm not sure there ever was one).
5. Had telco test from demarc (biscuit) and clean after 5 minute quasi.
6. Replaced T-1 cable (the one that connects to the backplane).
7. Replaced PRI card, clock controller and DCH daughterboards.

In short, I've replaced every possible wiring component as well as the PRI cards. The only thing I can think of that I have not changed is the backplane - and the way things are going, that probably wouldn't fix it either.

Any other ideas?

This is an hour after I brought it back up. It didn't seem to register the fact that I took the circuit down. I took loop 7 down at the same time (I was swapping T-1 cables) and it registered the loss of service (see further below). I didn't reset any counters. Loop 2 is the trouble PRI and also the clock source.

are you getting errors on the circuit you are using for PBX timing? LD 60 SSCK will show you where you are getting your timing from.

Yes, the clock source is the trouble PRI, loop 2.

what if you change the clock to Loop 7 as Primary and see what happens

Loop 7 has no clock controller on it, I'd have to shut down the system, and I have no idea how to program that anyway. Are you suspecting that this is caused by the primary clock?
