Hey, fellas (ladies?)!

I've got an IP500v2 on 8.1.69, programmed in Basic Mode with Embedded Voicemail. Standard mode simply isn't an option for this customer - it was a bad sell in the first place, and a high-profile client. Apparently sales reps don't like consulting with their techs first..

Anyway, the customer wants to check their VM remotely, but only have a basic setup. Call rings in via Line Appearance, and drops into extension 16's voicemail. Maybe it's something simple - is there a code to enter while listening to an extension's greeting to check voicemail? Been looking through documentation, finding nothing. Doing it via AutoAttendant the only option here?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using the embedded vmail in IP Office mode or Intuity? Intuity mode allows for a re-login with a **7. Not sure with out testing it to see if it would allow this option from a greeting.

Okay, I tested it, and it doesn't work that way. Sorry. Kick your sales man for me~~!!~~

If he weren't half way across the country I definitely would!! Thanks for testing it, I appreciate it!

Looks like I'll just interface a quick AA with a greeting if the customer wants to check remotely. Otherwise, they may be out of luck! Maybe I'll set her up with VM to email.

Thanks

Did a little more banging on it. This one is just a theory since I don't have a basic system to test on. You can set up a DTMF break out from voice mail. You have to go to 'view' in the tool bar and turn of 'Hide Admin Tasks' to get to it. In the admin task window hit user setup and it will give advanced options. In there is the DTMF breakout for *0 2 and 3. It does allow 777 to be entered there.

It it does work, let me know. I may need it someday.;)

Hmmm, good idea! I'll have to give that a shot. I'm heading out to that customer site tomorrow most likely, I'll test and let you know! Thanks again!

ATech,

Use the DTMF breakouts at ext. 16 like budbyrd said, but have it go to 778 instead. That way, it should prompt you for the extension and password to any mailbox.
