Check My New Site.. PLEASE?? 9

Hi,

I have just launched a new site and would like as many people as possible to review it for me.

I asked for a review before and got some negative feedback so I have changed the whole layout. You wouldn`t beleive it was the same site!!

Please could you tell me:-

Browser used.
Connection.
Approximate page loading speed.
Any problems encountered.(Display or otherwise)
Any other comments you may have(Good or bad).

Hi Wullie,

I am using IE5.5 with cable. The site was up in under 3 seconds for me and WOW! you have been busy!

I remember the original layout which was ok but the colors just did not fit and it just did not have the zing if you know what I mean.

You have done a great job implementing this into a very aesthetically pleasing site. That one popup is still there but I suppose we can live with that since it does seem to be a neccessary item due to the nature of the subject you are dealing with.

I have had a few comments from people that cannot connect to the site and others that can..

One thing that seemed to work for some people was to try this

I have had the pop-up debate with a few people (Some like it, others don`t.)
I have decided now to remove the window as there is still a link to the information on every page.

Not sure what is causing the problem some people are having is but I am going to investigate further.

WOW wullie... that site is looking amazing now
congratulations
love the colour scheme, and it loaded in under 2 seconds on an ISDN link.... using IE 5.5...

still not too keen on the pop up! but the menu layout is great, very clean look

maybe one tip: colourblind people will not be able to see your bright green headers on the book/poem/etc pages, as well as the bullet points which are cyan (really light blue) on a white background is not visible to these people ^-^

gives off a really great feel too and blue is a great colour to use, particularly for this cause

If you read a few posts back you will notice that I have decided to remove the pop-up window.
On the subject of colour, I have changed both the items you have mentioned already but due to a problem with FTP I cannot upload the changed pages.

I have contacted my host and have been told that they are working on the problem and it should be fixed very soon. It`s a problem with the DNS settings..

I think the problems have come to an end..Finally!! LOL

I have just received a message from interseer stating

YOU WEBSITE IS OFF ERROR

Total Time on error: 1 week, 5 hours, 28 minutes, 44 seconds

Hopefully this is the end of all connection problems!!

Hi,

I am not sure what the current problem is with connecting, nearly everyone can connect now.

My host has assured me that there was a problem with their servers but they are up and running now, so they say it is out of their hands. :-(

I had a few choice words with my host and they said they will look into the problem.

Probably won`t make the slightest difference but I will just have to wait and see.

Failing that, I`m going to a paid host in the next couple of months.
