We are changing providers and the new carrier wants to know the following:

Line Coding -
Line Frame -
Digit Outpulse -
Protocol -

We are currently using ISDN PRI's with Sprint. Anyone know off hand what LD's I can find this info in ?

Thanks

ld 22
prt cequ

will get you most of that, your running b8zs, esf, the digits refer to the number of digits you want from the office, if your using 4 digit ext, that's the answer, and your protocol will be sl1.. you'll need to know their switch type and release, and protocol. if those don't match your current provider you'll need to out your pri's and rebuild them

Thanks, that's great.

One additional question:

Sprint was using a Lucent Switch and our new provider is using an DMS 500. In what load do you find the difference or do you have an example of building a trunk?

Thanks

the trunks will be the same, but you'll need to out then, out the route, out the d and put the d back in, here is one of my d's that interfaces to the same switch

That's great, thanks John.

A couple of more questions:

You say I will need to out the trunks, route and D channels,

I will out the trunks in LD 14 and rebuild there?

I will out the routes in in LD 16 and rebuild there?

I will out the DCH in LD 17 and rebuild there?

Is this Correct? If so, do you have any suggested configs for each to talk to a dms500?

Thanks

yes that is correct, here is a route back to a 250, which is the same switch

If you are running NI2 then should not have to make any changes. That is if the 500 does NI2.

We are running Ni1. The powers that be were too cheap to upgrade to rel25.

So, I have no choice. Thanx.

you can no longer upgrade to any rls before 4.0, your rls will no longer be supported sometime this coming year, maybe the power will get off of a dollar then, have the same trouble here, 3 million to upgrade the network, but why spend money on the voice side, they never break.. not a new story, just more of the same
