We originally had the option 11 PBX whith 2 POTS lines going tinto a ANLG M/WLC card. These lines were ground start.

After chaninging ofer to VOIP that provided loop start lines we do not know haow to reconfigure the switch.

I understand the LD commands but do not know which one to start and wherer to go to change the line types.

Any hints

Thanks

I haad two POTS - ground start. I am now replacing them with 2 VOIP lines that are loop

The original rout is auto = yes

Seems that by connecting the POTS to the trunk card the lines work for outgoing as long as the lines (LD 14)are configured in grd. However, when configuring them in loop mode they quite working althogther.

check the switch settings on the card

a little guidance here please!

Know that one is on LD 14 and the other is on LD 16 but to review this need to know how.

prt the route, you'll see tgar, it is more them likely a 1, unless when you put it in you did a x1, enter 0 at that prompt you'll have 0 1, to remove the 1, x1.. on the set you are testing from, check targ, default is 1, change it to any number, you can't x it out but can enter.. because they both default to 1, the block in their, unless you address it. i always use x1 on the route, then is i need a block i add the blocking tgars, the route can have more then 1 tgar, ie tgar 1 2 3 4 5 6,, that is normal for my page, every set blocks except the console and security, which are targ 7

Where do I find tgar you are talking about

When I run LD 20 to see the set I do not see targ listed. Where should I look?

ok I have changed the TARG with LD 16 ( do I need to do a command in LD 32 to make this become active?

I still do not see anything in LD 14 for TGAR (nor in LD @) - prt)

What seems to be the problem is that while it is in loop start the truck card does not serach for an outside line to call.

This may be part of the problem with incoming.

What seems to be the problem is that while it is in loop start the truck card does not serach for an outside line to call. However when it is in grd it will search though each TN until it get a clear line.

targ/tgar doesn't block incoming.. and trunks (ld 14) doesn't have either.. one on the route, one on the set.. they can't match.. how do you have the incoming routed?

for a pots line the route needs to be on auto and the atdn has to have a target in the trunk. otherwise the switch has no defined answer point

Lets review

The PBX was originally installed with POTS lines type ground. All functions worked including call in call out voicemail, conf and full routing etc.

We move from carrier POTS to VOIP which are type loop.

Leaving the system with its original configuration we are able to call out, route within company and have voice mail within company. What we loose is incoming capability.

Changing the line type (using LD 14) to loop we loose all function ability. (Note - you do not even hear the switch trying to check other lines)

Here is our current configuration

On the Trunk members try changing DTN to DIP. Some VOIP systems do not recognize the tones. Also try and clip a test set onto one of the trunks to see if you can dial with the LOP start line and bypass the swit

ok
1) Clipping on to the punch down block that leads to the switch - I get dial tone and can send and receive calls.

2) Is there anyother place then the CLS (LD 14)that I need to change DTN to DIP?

No that would be the only place. Each TN would need to be changed if it works.

if it is the dip cls, then it can't outbound, but a tone on the port will let you know if you hit the trunk after dialing...your about to break the record for number of replies

after i posted this am,m i changed my 4 cot's from grd to loop, just to see if i had missed a step. outed the tn's in 14, built a new route (auto yes) in 16 added back the 4 cot's in 14.. works both ways, without a jumper change, but they are slow to respond, and i am using the acod to access, instead of a rlb...just a fyi, took less then 10 minutes
