I found an old thread listing the commands to view and set time in a Nortel Meridian phone switch but I can't seem to find anything about the syntax and I'm having trouble changing the time.

LD 2
TTAD : lists date/time
STAD : sets the date/time

If I mirror the output of TTAD (DAY DD MM YYYY HH MM SS) and press "Enter," the console spits out about 20 "TFC200" and "TFC0000" messages, and the time doesn't change.

Thanks for the help.

ttad is test time and date, does it not give you time and date? What rls you on? using 2nd level pwd?

TTAD does show me the current date/time, I'm trying to change the time because it's about 15 minutes off.

I'm not famiiar with a second level password, we've never had to enter another one after signing in with the LOGI prompt. Sorry guys, I'm stumbling my way through Nortel.

you are entering something incorrectly, or you are hitting enter after stad instead of entering the proper string for date and time....

TFC0200
Syntax error. Illegal character has been input.

Ok, after logging into the terminal and typing LD 2 I get TFC0000, can I infer that that's an error code as well and why it's not accepting the STAD?

all zeros is just a overlay identifier. when you enter STAD - the overlay adds a space and waits for you to enter the info, if you just hit enter key, you will get an error.

No that is what is supposed to be displayed. You have to log in with the second level in order to change the time.

Think I got it... I tried using STAD instead of stad.

Can't edit my last post to add this, but using STAD instead of stad did it, phones just updated with the time I set. Thanks guys.

When you put the time and date back in, do not enter the "DAY" at the begining. The system figures that out itself.
TTAD gives time and date: TTAD THUR 02 06 2011 15 49 50
STAD allows you to change it: STAD 02 06 2011 15 49 50
TDTA shows your off set
SDTA allows you to change it.
The offset occurs during the midnight routines I believe, it moves the clock in thousanths of a second either plus or minus to try to keep it as accurate as possible. It usually does not need more than + or - 020 to keep it close, though it will still wonder a bit.
SDTA 1 020 to forward a slow tome by 20 thou
SDTA 0 020 to retard a fast time by 20 thou
Hope that helps
