right now we dial into our Definity G3 for administration through ASA mostly. The other day the dial in will not pick up the call. i traced the phone line down to the AUX port on the back and the line was good. I there anything i can check in ASA or to even change it to another port if i have a bad card?

you can try a reset system 1 to reset the modem. You canit change the port for the modem on a G3SI it is internal on the processor and the connection is on the last pair of the aux cable. You might need a new processor board.

We powered off the system with no change in issue, will doing "system reset 1" have a different affect?

plug a butt onto the line that connects to the AUX and call in see if it rings, if you've powered off the system then a reset 1 will not do anything more for you

I got TN765 as our processor, is this correct for ordering a new one?

Nope, that is a processor interace board. Your processor will be a TN786, TN790, TN790B, or a TN2404. You also need to make sure the release loaded onto the new processor is the same or greater than the release you currently have.

Your right, its a TN2404. Thanks for all your help guys, nice forum.

type "list config soft" and post your result. if you are greater than an R9, you will need to involve Avaya or a Business Partner to create a new license file for the new processor since your license is tied to the processor serial number.
