I just called into Lucent\Avaya tech support about trying to get CentreVu Supervisor 6 client to work with Windows 2000. They said that I would need "dm.08", what ever that is. They also said that I would have to purchase it, even though I pay support for CentreVu. Does anyone have either the "dm.08" this guy was talking about or a copy of Supervisor 8, which I heard will work with Windows 2000?

Thanks,

Tom

As far as I am aware ther are no poblems to get any of the versions to run on win 2000..
I even run the very old 5.7 version client on win2000 without any problem.
No clue about what tha dm.08 would be..
Keep in mind that the version of the client only works for the verion it is meant for, so a a V8 client is not going to work on a V6 cms machine.
Updates of the clients can be found at the ftp.avaya.com site.

Hope this helps,

Rob

Just to set things straight, the Since V8 CentreVu Supervisor IS downwords compatible.

So a V8 Supervisor WILL wor on a V6 CMS box Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.

Ive tried to run ver 8 with our v6 box and it will not work. I would like to use some of the Functionality of v8 can you tell me how you did it?

Europe is right.

It is downwords compatible but that doesn't mean you can use the V8 features. The version of your CMS is leading so you can't use the new features.

I tried going to the "ftp.avaya.com" and I couldn't find any files out there. The only login I have is "anonymous". Do you need a real login to see files? I was able to see the directory structure, but there weren't any files out there.

Thanks,

Tom

As of august 1, 2002 this site is no longer active without a guest password.
You should contact Avaya or your Avaya businesspartner to get a guest account and password.

We run CentreVue 8 on a V6 CMS system, the key is to make sure when you add the CMS server to your software to drop the version to V6, all works well then.

Thanks,

John
