Does anyone know of a way to label a CD-ROM drive within Win98 SE?

why would you label the drive, when its name depends on the CD inserted???? James Goodman

...to distinguish between the CD-ROM and the CD-RW. I have already thought about using different drive letters for each drive such as maybe R for the Reader and W for the Writer. How about using a different icon for each drive? But Win98 doesn't allow the changing of a drive icon right??

Correct. The drive icon is assigned by the CD inserted. A CDR/RW can get it's icon from a path specified in the autorun.ini file. I still don't really understand what you are trying to achieve though. James Goodman

The CD labels are from the CDs itself. I assume you have one CD in one drive and another CD in the CDRW which is either identical to the other CD or just has an identical label and you want to distinguish between the both.
You could make a copy of the CD with your CDRW with one modification. Make up the label yourself! (CD1 label: labelled_cd1 (CD2 label: labelled_cd2So many CDRW software I've seen lets you create the label. All you have to do is not follow any copy CD wizard but go into the CDRW software and copy it from there.
