I am having trouble with my CCR and AA greetings. they seem to work fine however when a caller rings in they are answered by the AA. They hear the correct CCR tree. if they choose an option that gets them transfered to an internal extension the call will not go into the extensions voice mail after 4 rings. the call instead reverts back to CCR path 0 and starts from the begining. if you choose option 7 - then option 2 it should transfer to ext 224 and if the user at ext 224 does not answer i want it to go into the mbox for ext 224 not back to home menu.

Any help is appreciated

VM: NAM
Sets: M7310

Thanks a bunch

THIS IS A GOOD ONE!!!!
1) Is the General Delivery mailbox enabled or disabled?
(check by logging into F983 then press 6)
2) Can you transfer calls directly to a mbox using F986?
3) Can you leave a message using F980?

This sounds a lot like the old "Redirect DN" issue.
Do you have access to Norstar Voicemail Manager?

I have line appearances because the AA doesn't answer all the time. i could make an incoming line key or the like.

i removed all lines from my set and it now rings in on my intercom path but still reverts back to path 0

can anyone explain in more deteail the redirect DN issue? is there any tech docs.

no i don't have access to voicemail manager. i could put a monitor and keyboard and mouse on the vm but as far as software i have nothing. would a monitor and keyboard be enough?

yes ext is associated with Mbox

General Delivery is enabled

F986 works as expected

F980 works as expected

Do not have access to VMM

can i just enable the monitor on my voicemail or do i need key codes.

An issue between the MICS 5.0 s/w and the NAM 4.0 s/w is known to exist. Extensions on the KSU may not forward to their personal mailboxes when the Auto Attendant answers outside calls originally. If you have a NAM 4.0 connected to a MICS 5.0 you need to edit NAM System Parameters. One way is to make this change is via a boot disk having REDIRDN.EXE and AUTOEXEC.BAT files on it.

The second way is to use Norstar® Voicemail Manager to make changes. This cannot be done through regular telephone programming. If you use the boot disk method you will install it into the NAM. This will change the redirect DN setting to "no" without having to use Norstar® Voicemail Manager.

Awesome sounds exactly like the problem i'm having. I have monitor and keyboard on the NAM. think i can fix this by editing the autoexec file or do i have to have voice mail manager.

i'm staring at the Nortel networks background and can do all sorts of things. this unit even has an ethernet card and i have the VM on my network. i can ping it.

did they specify what settings needed to be changed? i am comfortable with editing files ut just obiuosly need to know what needs to be edited

Does anyone know where i can obtain a copy of this boot disk or a copy of Norstar Voicemail manger? Thanks for everythign to date

I think you can download Vmail Manager from Nortel's website w/o a login.

Adversity is Opportunity

Thanks but no such luck. i have been on the nortel site since about 11am trying to find Norstar Voice mail manager. i found versions 3.0 and 4.0 but they require entitlements which i do not have.

OK thanks guys. i think its about time to throw in the towel. on this one. just not sure if i'll change the CCR to point directly to the mailbox as a LVMSG path or maybe just put this thing out on the curb and get a bunch of analog phones!!!!

Really thanks again to all of you your help was impressive.

Stumped by the NAM again!!

mcswensen ....
If you provide your email I can send you a fix file.
You need to create a bootable floppy diskette and load this fix onto it.
Pwr off the NAM, insert the disk, and pwr up.
When you hear two beeps, problem fixed.
There is a Readme file included in the zip with instructions.

USB Floppy Drive (because your cheap boss wont order any pc's with them) $21.99

Pack of 10 Floppy disks (because you can't just buy one) $4.99

Getting the Patch from supportdude and fixing this bloody Voicemail = PRICELESS

Confirming that the issue has been resolved. I ran the REDIRDN.EXE patch and poof it works.

Thank you to all that helped out.

Hawks - Thanks a bunch for figuring out the problem

SupportDude - Thanks for helping me resolve it.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend

No problem make sure you guard that file and or floppy. you might need it in another year or so. There are other NAM's still out there...lurking

haha yeah no doubt. Anyone want 9 floppy disks? ah forget it i'll just pass them out as christmas gifts around the office. no body will be able to figure out what they are.

I am jumping into this kind of late... and maybe someone has made this suggestion already...but I just had what seems to be a very similar problem. It was a Nam and had been working fine for a long time. I was all set to replace the Nam when I tried connecting my laptop went in and found that somehow in parameters the place when you indicate a voicemail system....it was not checked. I checked it and sure enough, system worked normally again. Had to have been a glitch from power outage.
Hope this is it for you.

i didn't see if you listed your NAM software level but on the 4.1's you can edit cls and correct your redirect dn issue though a set...if it's not i see the boys already have you on way getting this one accomplished.
