So I'm trying to understand what the "time server" is for in ipoffice. When it was setup by our vendor it was setup to be the ip address of the voicemail system. Now it is setup to be the CCC server (2 separate machines). Does it contol the time on the phones ? the time for voicemail hours checks ?
I cant find any info on it in the DOCS from avaya.
My problem is my phones arent reflecting the time from the time server machine, and my CCC reports are showing 3-4 minutes later than they happened. I see the time offset in system, will that adjust the time on the actual handsets ?
My ultimate goal is to get the customer service reps phones to match the times in the CCC reporting (for attendance reporting mainly)

Thanks,
Linc

the time server is the time on the ipoffice, which is shown on the handsets. The voicemail pro server can act as a time server as well as manager.

The CCC receives info from the Delta Server which receives info from the IP office, which gets it's time from the device selected above.

The CCC Server does not act as a time server.

To check the time on the system which I rekon is off by a couple of minutes, open System Status App, time is on the bottom right. Alternatively, program a button on the phone as Time Of Day, pressing it shows T&D.

*9000# is also the code to update time manually through the phone, but I have seen a case where it doesn't come into effect until a reboot.

So if I'm understanding right, if I can have an alternate timeserver, how come it is off by 3 minutes ? I will try the shortcode to see if I can update it, but before we started doing updates forever ago this all JUST WORKED.
All the sets have time of day buttons, thats how we know we have the issue.

thanks for the info.

I think that *9000 code only works in 4.1. i am not sure about 4.0 but it may.

From 4.0.10 the *9009* "hold" works if you have set an 5410/20 or an 5610/20/21 as a system phone

I am on 3.2. How can I insure that my handsets are synched up to the same time as my CCC server ?

Let manager run on that server
Put in the ipadres of that server in the timeserver ipadres in the systemtab

tlpeter can you explain ? We already have the CCC server as the timeserver right now. What do you mean by let manager run on that server ?

Manager and VMPro can be a timeserver for the ipoffice
CCC will not
When you install manager on the server and let it run it will be the timeserver

I will install the latest manager on the CCC server and open it up. Do I need to restart the system to sync the times back up, or will it just sync itself ?

Ok so it sounds like I can put my time server back to my vmpro server and that should sync everything back up. I'll try it, thanks !

The ipoffice will update within a hour i believe (i am not sure)
With a reboot it is done straight away

Ok I did this and my phones instantly synced up. But the CCC is still reporting the time off the CPU clock on that server, which can wander from time to time. Is there anyway to force this to use the timeserver in ipoffice to make sure its always synced ?

Reboot the ccc server
Make a clean start
