Hey all, I fired up the ole 3300, and i've reset the IP etc but I cannot seem to get the web maint screen show up.

I'm using winxp, IE6 the very first time i connect, a box came up warning me that I may be connecting to un unsecure site, I checked the don't tell me about it box. Now I cannot get anything to happen.

the link I'm using is
and here is the network info from vmworx:

boot device : ata=auto

Once it has booted, do all the alarms disapear? Does it look as if the controller is rebooting all the time?

Perhaps check that you can FTP or telnet to the controller, that way you can confirm that the box has booted up correctly.

Hi and thanks for the response. The 3 alarm LED's are blinking, but the controller is just siting on a table with no connections except for 1 LAN and the serial port. It does not attempt to reboot, but the last line of this cut and paste may indicate some kind script error?

Here is the whole boot up:

Ok I can ftp to it, using ftp/@ and it gives me guest access. I cannot telnet to it, but is the default port 23?

What port are you pluggin your LT or PC into to access the admin page of the controller?
Have you set your IP address on your LT or PC to the same subnet address as the controller itself??

I am using the serial port to get to the vx shell, the pc I am using is on the same subnet.

I have used telnet 10.0.99.20 2002 connection refused
Mitels sx200 telnet-tls 10.0.99.20 2002 connection refused
SecureCRT SSH1&2 10.0.99.20 2002 connection refused

I came across some commands to enable/disable the webserver:

To stop the web server type - ts WebServer
To start the web server type - tr WebServer
To view the information on the web server type - i WebServer

But they all rebuff:

-> ts WebServer
undefined symbol: WebServer
-> i WebServer
undefined symbol: WebServer
-> i webServer
undefined symbol: webServer

So you are going through your LAN from your PC to the controller using IP address 10.0.99.20? if that is the case you need to make sure your PC can access that VLAN. Otherwise I beleive you need to connect directly to the controiller on the controllers LAN port and set a static IP address on your PC or LT to 1 digit off the 10.0.99.20...so like .21 or something.....hopefully we'll get differing opions here.....

Hi, yes the pc and controller are on the same subnet there is no vlan persay.

The pc lives at 10.0.99.102

Do you have access to another laptop to try?

You mentioned that you could at least get something to work before you accepted the certificate, maybe try deleteing the Mitel Root Certificate from the Trusted Root Certification Authority upgrade to IE7 or IE8.

Let me know how you get on

Hi, yes i turfed all the certs. where it says:

Script file directory /sysro/script/startup does not exist.

could this be the root of the whole problem?

What part of the 3300 hosts the web interface and the telnet interface?

Its odd that i can console it, and ftp to it.

Thanks!

Did you trash the certificates on your laptop right?

Download the following:

When you start the program, enter 10.0.99.20 as the IP Address, then change the connection type to Raw then go and change the port to 2002.

Make sure you do it in that order as if you change the port to 2002 then change the protocol, the port will change back by default.

Login using your normal username and password you use for ESM.

Have you tried another laptop/PC or upgraded to IE7?

Hi NY and blarney, putty is not able to make a connection and i did use your exact steps.

telnet-tls to port 2000 seems to try but get a connection refused, but it looks like its generating a key or something:

Version 1.0.0.2

Loading configuration options from C:\telnet\telnet.ini.
Loading ANSI from C:\telnet\telnet.cfg.
Use configuration: ANSI.
keymap ansi
There are 1 maps.
telnet>o 10.0.99.20 2000
MiSslInit(): entry
MiSeedRand(): Start RandStatus = 1
MiSeedRand(): End RandStatus = 1
Trying 10.0.99.20:2000...
Connection refused.

I will try it on another box, I read people mentioning that IE8 and possibly IE7 are not that good, better to stick with IE6?

Thanks!

If you are using the secure telnet from MItel leave off the : between the ip address and the port number

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Hi ny, yes, when i used the 'o' command to open a session there was no : used, the term programmed echoed the "Trying" part with a : in it.

I put IE7 on this can and s till no joy. Next step is trying it on another machine.

Thanks and hopefully it stay sunny this weekend!

Ok it's online!! It would appear changiing ata=auto to ata=0,0 fixed it. I can now log into the ESM.

So the first thing I want to do is get all the option codes etc safely stored away but the password has *'s on it, there must be some way to reveal it??

So you ended up goping thru the console port? Using putty or?? What actual physical port are you connected to?

Hi hebegb41, as stated in the thread all i had access to was the console port and the ftp.

The problem was in the vxworks startup line:

boot device : ata=auto

As soon as I changed the "auto" to "0,0", it was able to find the drive and thus this error cleared up:

Script file directory /sysro/script/startup does not exist.

I found the boot device parameter in the 3300 tech handbook.

Now I just want to make sure that I have all its info saved (I did do a backup) but i can't see the options password as it covered in *'s.

Thanks for everyones help!!
