I have a bcm50 that has multiple target lines that ring on a phantom DN. Then I have 3 phones that have this phantom DN on there sets (assigned DN). The problem is that when I call the target lines, voice mail is picking up instead of just ringing and following the autoattendant schedule of ringing. It seems to be following the forward schedule of the 3 DN's. Is there any way around this?

by phantom do you mean non-existent phone?
try using hunt groups instead

- why do you have it going to a phantom phone?

I have been told that there were issues using hunt groups. I originally had a hunt group set up but wasn't able to get more that 1 call to ring 1 set. End result I need 3 phones to ring at the same time until the call is answered. No auto attendant. The 3 phones need to be able to see other incoming calls while they are on a call. Those 3 phones also have to have their own personal vmail box. At night, 1 of the phones needs a night service button which will transfer all calls to an autoattendant.

What is a Phantom DN on a BCM, I never heard of it.

In the hunt group you list the 3 phones you want it to ring on and make it RING & APPEAR, then you add the Target line to the hunt group. the first call that comes in will ring all 3 phones. That is the purpose of hunt groups. You also need a phone assigned to the target line.

There is a problem with hunt groups in that you can only take 1 call at a time. That said, it works the way it was designed to work. You can put each target line in its own hunt group and then assign it to the phones. We have done this and it works well for the customer.
