Hi!
A user reported me a failure with his PC. Whenever he turn on his PC wind tries to load but it gets stuck in the start screen.
When I tried to boot in safe mode it couldn't.
Then I finally got an error message.
"Windows protection error. You need to restrt your computer."
Then I got an error with the next file VXDLDR error
I can't make it work. How can I restablish this computer?
Any ideas?
Thanks!!

Could always try reinstalling over the old version. That's where i'd start. Justin

Make sure the motherboard doesnt need PIIX drivers, some older ones do so the bios sees everything correctly. That error is stemming from VXD= driver and LDR= loader....also try clearing NVRAM on the motherboard or reseating the ram sticks.
Hope this helps

I'd do one of two things 1.> reinstall the os that you're useing now or 2.> upgrade to a newer version either win95 or win98. to make life easier Reuel Miller has re-written a standard windows98 boot disk so that it will work with windows95, I use it all the time, it lets you boot to floopy and have cd-rom support, then install win95, from the cd, you can't do that from a standard win98 boot disk. and the win95 boot disk dosen't give good cd-rom support. You can get the boot disk at: William Pike
