Hello everyone,

The passwords on the phone system here is all defaults. The funny thing is I can log in as the system coordinator and program, but when I try to get into the services specifically the restriction (Feature 872) it prompts for the password. Niether of the sys coordinator's or basic work. Is there something I am overloooking here or should I be able to get in and set this up.
The reason this is a real pain is that there is one ext that is restricted from making long distance calls, and now that needs to be lifted.

Thanks for your time!

Thanks Tony,

Unfortunatly, it's a no go. Correct me if I am wrong, but it should be the same as the coordinator pasword, right?

Can you walk thru exactly how you are trying to log in, step by step?

Thx,

Chris

Chris,

Thanks for your time, it is appreciated!

What I am doing is on the main phone (CAP) I use Feature 872. At this point, I am prompted for a password. Now, I use the same password for configuring the system which is admin (i.e **config | password:admin) At this point the system displays "denied in admin". I have also tried using basic, 266344 (config), and admin as passwords all to the same results. Am I doing something wrong?

have you tried going in as the installer
f**266344
<Installer password> default is 266344
this should take you into any programing you may need to do .
What type of system are you trying to get into ? the info I gave you will work on a MICS or CICS

Have you checked the restrictions assigned to that set in regular programming? Maybe that extension has a line/set restriction assigned that is preventing it from making long distance calls.

Justcamcity - It sounds like the specific set has a filter applied to it that restricts the long distance call. This may be a specific COS password that was activated to ensure only those people approved to make long distance calls from that phone use the one of the COS passwords that was activated. The easiest way to remove this filter/COS setting is to copy the configurations from another set that works correctly and apply it to the extension which needs correcting. Since you are able to access the configuration menu just select the set configuration and COPY single mode to the extension you want. Good Luck [peace]
