Hi,

I need to program a Avaya Partner with a loudspeaker but having problems. I followed the manual that states to use #617 to assign a port. I can type #61 but as soon as I press 7, the phone beeps and 7 never gets answered. Any ideas?

R4 has a dedicated page port. The R7 & 8 require you to program a line port to use as paging.

Thanks for the help. I have one more question. The loudspeaker cable gets split into two different cables.
1. RJ11 (blue/white)
2. A Black cable which I can't identify.

I have uploaded two images of the cables:
Can you help me determine what the cable is for? Does it go the amp?

No idea what that homemade cable is.

The page port on the Partner has 4 contacts. The center pair is the audio that you connect to the input of your amplifier. The pair that straddles the center pair is a Normally Open contact closure, that closes when you are paging, which some amplifiers require to mute background music or simply enable paging.

that looks like the end a trunk adapter that AT&T use with pagepac 20

I guess we will need to just buy a new loudspeaker that is compatible with the R4. Any recommendations?

What kind of loudspeaker do you currently have there? The Partner works with most.

you need to purchase speaker that are compatible with your amplifier

We don't have a speaker or amp. Can you link me to ones you recommend on eBay?
