Merlin Magix w/winspm 8.0

People can no longer leave messages because our voicemail is apparently full. This is the second time in two weeks this has happened. The first go around I asked everyone to review their mailboxes and delete messages. This worked for a short time.

Is there any way to audit all the voicmail boxes to see who is still hogging space or any other way to purge the system with one fatal click? If they can't review and delete I am more than happy to do it for them.

I know about changing the overall storage space for each extension but I don't want to do that since people are filling up what they already have.

any advice would be appreciated.

Well, which voice mail system are you using with your Magix?

Merlin Mail?
Merlin Messaging?
Audix?
Duvoice?

It is a Merlin Messaging system.

Not sure about any general delivery boxes. Pretty sure it was set up so only specific extensions were part of the group that had voicemail.

I checked those mailboxes and they were empty. Thanks for the advice though.

Depending on the release, there may be a programming GUI available that connects through the LAN port, as well as the serial port that uses the same connector that you use for WimSPM programming (except that you would use HyperTerminal instead of WinSPM for this). You can pull configuration reports and mailbox reports, as well as system status, to perhaps find the mailbox that is full, or if there is a general corruption of the system.

Personally, I prefer to use my WinSPM programming cable combo into the Merlin Messaging RS-232 port (topmost port on the blade). As Tommy pointed out, you'll need a terminal emulator like HyperTerminal, ProComm or TinyTERM. I believe you strap the COM port to 9600, N, 8, 1 but I could be mistaken--it might be 4800. You'll know when you've got it right because you'll get an intelligible prompt after hitting the <RETURN> key.

There is a way to dial in and get the same information, but I won't go over that here.

Login with the same sysadmin password that you would normally use when administering through touchtone. Choose option #2 for Mailbox Reports, then "*" to run a report on all mailboxes.

In my screen capture below, you'll notice that I found one mild and one heavy offender in my client's MerMSG: 6013 has 24 messages totaling 899 seconds or 14 minutes and 59 seconds, while 6018 is about ready to hit the 20 minute mailbox limit with his/her 46 messages totaling 1170 seconds or 19 minutes and 30 seconds.
