I have a Latitude with a Docking station running Win 2000 Pro and using either the Docking station NIC OR a Xircom combo card I get the message that the cable is not connected after booting. This Laptop was on a Domain that is no longer present, was on a Wireless previously and had several other NIC's installed previously. The Domain not being there shouldn't cause this problem though.
I have tried running the Laptop outside the Docking station and it still got the message that the cable was disconnected. I know, I know, is the cable bad? No, I just made it AND tested it w/a cable tester.
Will you get that message if IP addresses have run out? I have installed and uninstalled the NIC, TCP/IP and Client several times, to no avail.
HELP!
