Hi all.

I am failing to FTP to the 3300 with WinSCP and Filezilla.
I get connection timeout when my PC is connected direct to the 3300 LAN port.
Please assist. What could be the cause of this failure?

I intend to add 53xx TFTP files: Main,Boot and L2.
The 3300 is on release 5.0

You really should upgrade the controller to the latest release.

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.

The challenge is not with the release as I can FTP to other 3300s on the same release.
I have always managed to connect with WinSCP on different 3300s and the same procedure is failing on this particular 3300.
Phones display - TFTP server unavailable continuing bootup.
The focus is on why I cannot FTP and not the reason I want to FTP.

Can you ping the controller? If you can get on the serial port, can you ping your pc?

Can you browse to the Login Page?

What chassis type do you have?

It is the MxeIII. Yes I can ping the 3300 and login and also IP phones work, they just dont get the TFTP server.

Maybe the FTP service is not responding, not sure if there is a command to stop/start?

Have you tried a reboot?

I agree with Sarond a reboot will probably fix it assuming that all other settings are correct

make sure you are using FTP port 21
winscp will default to port 22

when my PC is connected direct to the 3300 LAN port
are you referring to the second port on the controller ?
is this the port that you can get to the web interface from ?
if not perhaps there is a vlan applied - might have to use the vlan_off command?

I intend to add 53xx TFTP files: Main,Boot and L2.
The 3300 is on release 5.0

what files are you trying to add and for what reason ?
what is the full software version ?
is it 5.0 11.0.0.102 or one of the patch releases ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

I have noticed that the 3300 has and old IP address in the Network Elements form for the Local ICP.
When I try to change it to the current one it is greyed out and cant be changed.
How can I change this IP address?

can you attach a screenshot as i dont think thats technically possible

and what does the lan setting show

FYI I would remove the attachement if i was you as you have shown the ARID which you should probably keep private

if you use something like greenshot you can obfuscate sensative data as shown here

I still think the pabx reset is the way to go

A reset system with dbms flag off couldnt fix the problem

Connect to the RTC port either with direct serial or say Putty using RAW and port 2002 and type version.
Look for U= and P= that is the FTP username and password, typically it is FTP and @ but maybe it was changed.
