Can't dial out on T1 Trunks

Hi Guys,

Setting up a system remotely in the US....know very little about the lines other than they are T1. I have got incoming calls working, that is not a problem. But outgoing fail everytime, tried a multitude of changes but nothing seems to work.....any ideas?

 
Do you have the channels in a trunk group, then a route in the ARS?

Yes. Routing is all correct and I can see the digits being sent to line through the CCS trace...seems the provider is not liking some sort of setting, just can;t find out what?
 
What do you hear when making an outbound call? If you know little about the T1, you should give the service provider a call and make sure you have the correct protocols(NI-1, NI-2 etc..) and syncing set up in the system.
 
Under ISDN protocol, you can try tweaking the Enbloc settings 1 at a time, then test. Be mindful that it will "bounce" the PRI when you make a change here.

Always look out for the next tech. because one day it will be you!
 
Ok, If only outbound is affected then it will be one of a few things

Wrong Protocol? - Is it NI-1 or NI-2?

[li]NI-1? proceed to Call by Call[/li]
[li]NI-2? See NI-2 options[/li]

NI-2 - Options
[ul]
[li]NI-2 should typically be set to unknown call type unless carrier is known to support Call Type Flags.[/li]
[li]NI-2 has a sub-type that may need to be set correctly
[/li]
[/ul]

Call by Call Setup
[ul]
[li]If your Bearer capabilityies and/or Network Services and/or Caller ID options are set to Call by Call then you need appropriate corrosponding digits in your Modified Digits Table
[/li]
[/ul]
