For some reason, my standart calender program is listed as microsoft outlook, despite the fact that I don't have it installed. I can't choose Lotus Notes that I HAVE installed, nor can I choose outlook express, so I at least will be rid of the warning at boot up that I don't have a standart mail program. I have Notes listed as standart mail, newsgroup and contactlist.
Any ideas?

-yours truly

When you look in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Programs, what programs have you got listed in there for the various Internet Programs such as E-mail, Calendar etc?

In Internet explorer, under the programs tab, my programs are as follows:
HTML editor: Microsoft Office Word
E-mail: Lotus Notes
Newsgroups: Lotus Notes
Internet call: Netmeeting
calender: Microsoft Outlook
contact list: Lotus Notes

Calender can't be changed to anything else!

Will it change if you reset IE back to default?

How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES)

Do you have any remnants of Outlook on your machine, and do you have any *.ics files on the machine?

Are there any Add-ons in IE referring to Office or Calendar?

-I tried to reset IE, but no luck. My options are unchanged.
-The only thing I have in IE refering to Office is a OneNote thing, but that's disabled.
-I couldn't find any trace of any *.ics files on my system.

Keep those suggestions coming :)

What does IE look like if you logon as another user?

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

See if you can locate any relevant Registry Settings via this link?

Internet Explorer Maintenance Extension Tools and Settings

If not, try searching the Registry for "Calendar" and see if you can find anything.

If you find anything and it clearly refers to Office, back it up before deleting or amending any such setting.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
