Cannot turn up T1 in G430. Works in G650 next to G430 2

Hi,

I have a G650 (CM 5.2) that has a 464 tT1 card. The PRI is connected to the Carrier and working. I have a G430 in the same equipment rack as the 650. I want to install a second PRI in the same trunk group as the first, but using a mm710 in the G430.

The second PRI into the G430 shows Out of service on the D channel. However, if I unplug the PRI from the mm710, and into the working 464 in the 650 it comes right up. I have both PRI's programmed Identical. I checked my cables and they are correct. (straight through into the mm710).

I think the problem may be the connection between the two systems but not sure. The G650 has an 8400 and the 430 has an 8300 installed. Can anyone suggest what may be wrong? (I swapped mm710 out as well)

sounds like it's programming.

check the "DS1" form on each, check the "signalling" form, and finally, check the "trunk group" form.

You have some differences between the 2 systems

also make sure the synchronization is programmed in the gateway.
set sync interface v_ primary (and secondary if needed)
set sync source primary
 
Thanks for the suggestions! We got it working by changing the csu type to integrated (was other), and the bizzare thing was that the "TSC Supplementary Service Protocol: was changed to A". (It was set to "B" like the twin Paetec circuit).

Can someone tell me what the differance is between setting the TSC Supplementary Service Protocol to either A or B?

I cant find any definitions of this.

I would love to know why one Peatec circuit needs to be set to "B" while the other to "A"

I would like to reach out to the communittee here and ask a telco provider question.

As I stated above, I have two identical circuits from the same carrier (paetec). I was recently able to get the 2nd T1 working by changing the TSC Supplementary Service Protocol to "A" in the signaling group,(as I somewhat graphed below). This was the only way I was able to get this circuit in-service. This T1 terminates on a MM710 card.

The original or 1st circuit, which we installed several months ago, terminates on a TN464 card has the Signaling Group's TSC Supplementary Service Protocol is set to "B".

However Paetec says that they have the two circuits identical in their programming. Is this possible? Below is how I have the two circuits programmed to successfully work. I'm hoping someone can explain how telco can have both circuits the same, but the two Avaya boxes have to set the protocols differently. (TN464 is in a G650, & MM710 in a G430 networked together) Thanks!

"Disp Signal Channel" A B

Ironically, If I put circuit 2 into the tn464 card, it comes up. If I put circuit 1 into the mm710 with it programmed as B, I get a different reading on the Smartjack. It shows Up, but the D channel is OOS, as are the channels..
 
On the DS1 setup on CM3 you had a "a" and a "b"

When you are the slave setup you should be "b"

When you are the master setup you should be "a"

The "a" setting means this side would start the circuit after it was down.

In CM4/5 this setting was changed to "disable restarts =y/n

When you are the slave => disable restarts =y
When you are the master => disable restarts =n
