I recently had a IP Office 500v2 cabinet 7.0 fail ordered new cabinet version 8.1 tried to format sd card and recreate sd card but shows greyed out in manager software. how can i recreate sd card?

never had that issue.
Maybe run Manager as administrator on your PC.

I have formatted and recreated plenty of cards and never saw it greyed out so I can just guess.

Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

That happens when in preferences the path to the config files and the path to the bins files are different.
The funny thing is if you both set them to the same path (c:/../Avaya/IP Office/Manager ) then you get a warning "this is not advised".

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Indeed, also if you just change the working directories as you would to use downloaded bin files to upgrade/downgrade it doesn't work either :)

No worries, if you want to know why.... it's because the "MemoryCards" folder doen't exist in the changed location, so the filelist.txt and IPOALaw.txt/IPOMULaw.txt etc are not available so it greys the setting out.

This is how it knows what files to upload, also by editing those .txt files and removing the references to unused languages and any bin files you never use you can drastically shorten upgrade and recreate times, to about 5-10 mins :)
