Hello,

My client is running an old version of Macola Progression v7.6.400 with Pervasive.SQL 8.5 and his computer crashed. A new hard drive was installed and the old one was installed as a secondary drive. I reinstalled Macola on the new C-drive, starting with v7.6.300, then running an upgrade to 7.6.400. I cannot get around the error shown below when I attempt to start Enter Orders. I can get into Customer and Item Maintenance, but the CANNOT CALL PROGRAM error when doing things like clicking the binoculars to look something up. I tried uninstalling Macola and installing a fresh copy from the 7.6.300 CD with only the Demo Data installed and I still get this error.

The log is much larger than what I included below, showing a Call Stack below. I can include that, also, if it is deemed helpful.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Please look at company setup under the system manager module and see what drive letter is hard coded in that screen. This drive must be mapped on EVERY machine. If that is OK post back and I may have some more ideas.

Hello dgillz and thank you for the response.

The drive in System Manager is mapped properly. I should also mention that this is a somewhat unusual setup. Macola is installed on a standalone PC with the Pervasive.SQL 8.5 Workgroup Engine. There are only two users. The root of the C-drive on the computer Macola is installed on is shared and I have mapped the M-drive on the same computer to its own C-drive share name. Therefore, the drive letter in the System Manager is set to M. That way the second computer can have an M-drive mapped to the other computer's C-drive and access Macola. This setup has been working for over 10 years.

All that being said, I temporarily changed the drive letter to C, but it made no difference. I got the same error when attempting to start the Enter Orders application.

Thanks again.

Log into Macola as SUPERVISOR and go into company setup and see if the Manifest system is selected. If it is, you need to make sure that the statement MANIFEST-SYSTEM=Yes (needs to be in CAPS as shown) is in the [MSWITCH] section of the macola7.cfg file in the Macola root directory. If Manifest is not being used, uncheck the checkbox in company setup.
