I have an IP Office 500. I think the software is 4.0 (15)
I have 124 VCM channels. When I get a large call volume, usually Thursday nights, I can only register 7 calls and then I start getting congestion reports saying not enough VCM channels available. Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Jon

Oh, and here's what I see on a trace when I try to forward a call to our other location:
5/1/09 8:15:21 AM-671ms Call Ref = 2513, Originator State = Connected, Type = Trunk, Destination State = Seized, Type = Target List
5/1/09 8:15:21 AM-671ms Call Ref = 2513, Short Code Matched = System, 320X
5/1/09 8:15:33 AM-692ms Call Ref = 2513, Originator State = Connected Blind, Type = Trunk, Destination State = Alerting, Type = Target List
5/1/09 8:15:33 AM-692ms Call Ref = 2513, Alerting, Line = 21, Channel = 1
5/1/09 8:15:33 AM-692ms Call Ref = 2513, Short Code Matched = System, 320X
On my end I hear the "waiting for line" beeps..

Across the pond probably means somewhere in england and i am from the netherlands

A firmware updat e does not fix a card and yes if you upgrade th esystem it upgrades those cards too

Does the light burns on the ATM ?

Yes evertything "looks" normal on the ATM. It just will only make one call and then "waiting for line" shows when you try to make another. The "heartbeat" also occurs. It acts like the call doesn't clear in the ATM and the hardware is tied up.

Indeed the line does not disconnect
Use system status to see if it is still connected !

System status shows the line has released, and the line will accept new calls and work normally on INCOMING calls, but will not dial out.

Then there is something wrong programmed or a bad card

Has there been lightning lately ?
Cards do not go bad often, there is almost always a reason for it

Move the ATM to the other VCM card
This is easy, just squeeze the white pins and remove the card

Be sure you have some ESD protection !!!

The ATM works fine on the other VCM card.
That's what makes me think the VCM card is bad.
When I trade card positions, ATM works but VCMs lock at 7.
In present config, line 9 is broken, but VCMs work (at least up to 28 - will have to have a more intense call-in to see if it gets past 71 [64+7])

You ocnfuse me

If you use the "good" VCM with ATM it does work but if you move the card you have problems ?

Can you list it ?

I don't know what you mean by "list it"..

The way the switch was originally configured,
VCM64#1 w/ATM Slot 1 / VCM64#2 Slot 2

ATM works fine. VCM only allows 7 seven calls and congestion occurs on call 8+.

New configuration:

VCM64#2 w/ATM Slot 1 / VCM64#1 Slot 2

ATM lines 10,11,12 work fine, line 9 allows one outgoing
call after a reboot, then no more outgoing calls. Incoming calls OK, VCM OK (At least 28 calls, I haven't had a large call-in yet to test past 60)
Did all that make sense?

Thanks,
-Jon
