I have a new PRI that I can not dial out on. Below is what I get when I turn on Dchannel messaging (I Xed out the last four digits). The guy at the CO says I need to send E164, not E163. I have tried putting a DMI in the RLI to change the call type, but it stays the same no matter what I put at the CTYP prompt. Incoming works fine. It is working out of a 5ESS office and is programmed as custom.

DCH 6 OMSG SETUP REF 00000014 CH 1 20 TOD 19:12:24
CALLING #:561721XXXX NUM PLAN: E163/NATIONAL (UNKNOWN)
CALLED #:1305372XXXX NUM PLAN: E163/NATIONAL (UNKNOWN)

DCH 6 IMSG REL COMP REF 00000014 CH 1 20 TOD 19:12:24
CAUSE :INVALID IE CONTENTS

Your help would be appreciated.

In my RLB rote 7 is 1st choice, but it not connected yet so calls go out route 6.

The number 1305 is not international you need the DMI to change the call type to NPA. Why is this built as an SPN? This should be built as a NPA and if you need to break out nxx areas within the area code you can use fcas tables.

Thanks, but NPAs don't work either. Same incoming message from the CO. I changed the DMI to INTL in response to an earlier reply from M1spezi in this forum. I've tried NXX as well. I have also tried it without a DMI table. You're right about the FCAS table, but the routing was built already.

Print the FTR_DATA in ld 21.

Can you complete the call by accessing the trunk directly?.... dialing the access code before the number?

No to both questions. I have tried using LD 36 thru the maintenance set and by using the ACOD. The provider is in the process of changing the protocol to DMS100. Hopefully that'll do it. Thanks for your response.

set your dmi to delete 1 and insert nothing and ctype = npa. some telco don't want to see the 1 and some do...

Thanks to everyone that replied. The provider had to change the Dchannel protocol to DMS100 to get it to work. I don't know why. I've been able to use ESS5 many times before.

That would depend on what type of switch they had at the CO. If it is a DMS then DMS100 is the correct way. However now days NI2 is the preferred method no matter what type of CO is involved.
