Our system is an IWATSU and is about 3 years old. The one feature we cannot live without is, when someone is on their phone and receives another call the receptionist can buzz into your ear and say so and so is on the phone. We then have one of three buttons to push to tell her what to do with the call, have hold, take message, or transfer.

This feature has been a very efficent feature and I do not want to be without it.

Yes it can. But there are exceptions. It's call 'Dial Inclusion'. The operator and the extension they called can hear and speak to each other, but the outside party does not hear the conversation. But, there is an intrusion tone that I believe the outside party can hear also. I don't know if that can be shut off. On the second part, phone manager pro can be used to do that.

It is a software loaded onto a users pc. It is used in conjunction with their phone. They are able to do many features. You can go to the Avaya website and look. Softconsole is another software that may interest you also. If you have read a lot of the threads in this forum, you would tend to think that this switch is laden with problems. It actually is a great PBX when in the right hands. Research the vendor you are using. Pay a little more and get an authorized avaya dealer. This system is rich in features especially when used with adjuncts such as CCC, VMPro and the mentioned softwares.
