Do you have a license for Avaya endpoints, and does your IPO have VCM channels?

The 9608 and IP500 have to be on the same
LAN.

You will need a license for an Avaya IP Endpoint to use this phone on your IPO.

The original IP office five hundred, had a CF card in the back. Not an SD card.

I am not aware of any hardware that would give you TWO VCM channels - you need to have a combo card (10 VCM Channels) or a VCM 32 or 64 in stalled in your system. 1408 phones do not use VCM channels to communicate with the IPO. Connect to your IPO with the Manager program to find the release.
