I am getting some reports of dropped calls in our call center. They are all on 5324 sets with 3.0.0.5 firmware. I am getting a lot of these errors on the 3300around the time of the dropped calls and never when our call center is closed. The local telco has been hard at work on this issue for a week and it has improved, but these errors make me nervous that something else is going on. Would someone be able to translate/recommend a course of action?

I just wanted to clarify the symptom they are seeing when calls are "dropping". The caller would call in and be routed to one of 7 ACD groups based on number dialed/call flow selection. To the best of my knowledge, these calls are only being "dropped" when released to an agent on an IP set.

The logs are saying that a channel is being requested that is already in use. Most likely cause is a burst in traffic load.

You don't mention the version, but it's likely you'll want to upgrade to the latest.

here is the output from a version command. Is it reasonable that this error is causing or contributing to the dropped calls?

I was thinking more of 10.0.x.x for the swrev. ;)

Yes, this will definitely result in dropped calls.

thanks for the quick reply, so do you think that updating the 3300 will take care of the problem, or is it a design/capacity issue, or a hardware issue?

You'd have to check with Mitel to see if they have seen the problem in your release, and if they have a fix in another to be sure. It would not be a hardware issue.

It may just be a burst capacity issue where a call gets left hanging, but again, Mitel support would know if your configuration would hit those limits.
