When our system was originally set up, calling from outside would result in 4 or 5 rings before auto attendant picked up, we discovered that turning off the caller ID got the rings down to 2. Is there any way to have caller ID without the excessive ringing?

i don't think so, that's one thing about the ipo that drives me nuts, the caller id always take about 2 rings.

That'll be because the CLI information is carried between the 1st and second ring bursts on analogue circuits.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Well, thats a bummer. If caller id comes between ring 1 and 2, what are the other 2-3 rings for?

You may be able to modify your incoming call route to get it to the voicemail faster

in your incoming call route you can make your destination be VM: then the name of the module for your attendant.

This may speed it up a little.

that is how it is currently set, guess im stuck with it

Under lines, select "Loop Start CLID", or something like that.
