We have a new IP office setup, latest software was installed a few weeks ago.

One quirk which is annoying is that if your phone is twinned to your mobile phone, and someone from within your office calls you, the caller ID shows up as your own number. If it is an outside call it comes in with the outside/correct caller ID. Is there anyway to get IPO to send the caller ID of the internal extension on twin?

Thanks in advance.

I do have one to ensure that the proper caller ID gets sent out for me.

As mentioned, as the call is classed as initiated from your user due to it being a twinned call (this is so it follows your restrictions or alternate routes etc) and so that is sending out your DDI/DID as caller ID :)

On a related side note, did you know that the system will send out your DDI/DID (if you have one) by default, no need for shortcodes to achieve this :)

So if I took that out, my caller ID would include my full number, not our generic main number? I guess I could test it.

Indeed it should, I believe there are some US providers that work in such a way that this isn't always the case, but they are the exception as oppose to the rule :)

With that SC code removed what gets sent when I call another number is our generic switchboard phone number. If someone calls my extension and it twins to my mobile it sends the same generic caller ID, not that of the internal caller. I went back to what I had, hopefully Avaya will fix/change this in an update.

I imagine you have your system shortcode programmed to overwrite with your main number, it will not do this by default :)

No, I mean your testing didn't work because the shortcode the system is matching when you removed your user shortcode is set to send out your main number instead of being just . or N etc to dial the number :)

So is there a systemwide setting that is forcing IPO to only send out or main caller ID? Can it be disabled? Where is it?

It will be a system shortcode, 9N Dial Ns123456 or similar or in ARS (without the proceeding 9) :)
