Caller ID with calls twinned from internal extensions...

We have a new IP office setup, latest software was installed a few weeks ago.

One quirk which is annoying is that if your phone is twinned to your mobile phone, and someone from within your office calls you, the caller ID shows up as your own number. If it is an outside call it comes in with the outside/correct caller ID. Is there anyway to get IPO to send the caller ID of the internal extension on twin?

Thanks in advance.

I've wondered that myself. In the past, I've just created an alternate ARS route for call twinning. Users would dial an 8N number for their twinning number, and it would point to an ARS that sent their personal did (480555E, for example).

This is down to line providers and if they allow it, you can set the system to send original caller if the provider allows it. Many providers require the call to come from a valid return number on the trunk so in that case it will not work, depends where you are and who you get your lines from basically :)

Not sure if I was clear. If an outside caller calls my phone and it twins to my mobile i get the correct caller ID. If the guy at the desk next to me dials my extension, when twinning send my caller ID rather than his.

It will, it's a twinned call so it is sending out your DDI as that's where the call initiated from...your user. If they call you mobile/cell direct it's from their user so shows correctly :)

Wouldn't it make more sense to send their caller-ID since they are trying to reach me. Sometimes the user could be logged in from home with the Softphone, call my extension, I'm out, it twins and all I see is my caller ID. It would be better if I saw theirs.

I'd love to send my suggestions to Avaya, is their a formal way to do it?

If you're a BP then there is the GRIP request procedure, but they get so far (acknowledgement of receipt) then get ignored generally :)

Do you use the option "send original caller id" for twinning in the system tab?
I have used it once (not allowed here) and this worked fine for twinning.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It works OK for me on SW level 8.1

I have "Send Original Calling Party information for Mobile Twinning enabled" on the Twinning tab under System and I also have System Shortcode that is:
?
.SS
Dial

Lodde,

I have that setting on, but it seems to only apply to calls that originate from outside the office, not an internal extension.

Had it not working on a customer site before and the problem was that they dialled out using User SC and not System SC.

What does this mean? "Had it not working on a customer site before and the problem was that they dialled out using User SC and not System SC."

My extension is 760. When 766 dials 760 and 760 is twinned to my mobile phone, the caller ID comes up as xxx-xxx-x760, not xxx-xxx-x766...

Yes, I understand your issue and I state that I do not have that issue with my setup.
But I know that I had the issue on a site where they had SC under the User for outgoing calls and that affected this issue, when they removed the SC´s on the Users, the CLI with Twinning was OK even with internal calls.

What exactly is SC? I'll try making the change if I can find it on the user page.

For the short code there are six options:

Code - blank box
Feature - Dropdown menu, on "Dial"
Telephone Number - blank
Line Group ID - Dropdown menu, on "O"
Local - Dropdown menu - blank
Force Account Code - checkbox, currently unchecked.

How would I enter the short code above into this area?

Thanks again.

what Lodde is saying, I think, is that you might have a user SC (under User/User/Short Codes) of 9N... which is overriding the system 9N SC.
