As I posted previously, our old point-to-point T1 showed the far end's ext and name when we called them and vice-versa. We switched carriers and got a new point-to-point. We then saw each others' full ten-digit phone number along with the name. Whatever the tech did to try and fix this resulted in the following:
when I dial far end my display correctly shows far-end's name and ext. but far end sees, on their display, Hxxxx (my four-digit ext) followed by my name. When they call me, their display correctly shows my name and ext. but I see Hxxx (only three digits, even though they also use four digits. The first digit is not showing). What does this H reference? We are all at a loss as to what to do. I appreciate any help at all. thank you.

what have you tried so far? are the routes marked int or ext? and does this change the problem.. do you have a clid table built and does this alter the problem? are the ttrunks vod or vce? ld 60 stat.. that may or may not alter the problem.. maybe the H stands for hosed up.. have you tried a enl msgi on the d channel in 96?,, that will show you what your sending.. changing vendors usually means that some one build new routes and new trunks, what is the difference in the two?

H = A private network call. Are the calls using NARS or do you have a CDP built?

we have a CDP built using a trunk steering code (not using NARS)

We use to get the H also on our point to point with a Mitel switch untill we got QSIG up and working corectly. That took many hours of working with two vendors and upgrading my switch to 25.40B. 40B has many QSIG fixes in it.

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
