Hi all,

I have a residential client that has 2x 9508 (in offices) and 6x 3rd Party (Panasonic)analog cordless telephones. The client would like to be able to delete all caller ID on all phones from one phone. I don't think this is possible seeing as it is a Panasonic cordless phone. Can it be done. If it was all Avaya phones could it be done?

Thanks
Derek

If it was all Avaya phones a reboot would delete all call history on all phones. But it will not do it on the Panasonic phones.

If it was all Avaya phones a reboot would delete all call history on all phones." - Depends on the release but that hasn't been true since at least 6.0 (maybe much earlier). The phones don't keep their own call log, its all managed centrally by the IP Office system and it survives a systems restart. You can turn that behaviour off using the System | Telephony | Call Log | Default Centralised Call Log On settings and since I've never done that I don't know what happens but presumably the phones then keep their own records and may lose them on a restart.

All that said you are right, anything done on the IP Office will not affect the call logs on the Panasonics which are more than likely keeping their own individual records.

The nearest approach would be not to provide caller ID to the phones in the first place.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks guys. If I used Avaya cordless phones (D100 I think) would I be able to do a global delete of Caller ID entries?

No you can't delete it easily.
I think it is saved in a text file on the SD card so you could find it and delete it then reboot
