A company has 9.1 essential IPO. Analog trunks, delayed ring. They want to see the caller-id by pressing the line key, but it answers the call. I did not see a caller ID inspect feature as in other systems. Is there such a feature available that works on the IPO?

Uh, so if the call rings to the phone and they see the CLID and don't want to answer they can press IGNORE. The caller ID, if present from the Telco, is automatically displayed on the ringing phone.

In the old Norstar days if the line appearances were set to Appear Only meaning the line indicator would flash, but the phone would not ring the user would have to press Feature 811 to see the CLID, and then press the line key if they wanted to answer. If they pressed the line key first the CLID would be presented at the same time the call was connected.

A couple possible scenarios are in play....

1. Because you have the Line Appearances set to "Delayed Ring", someone can hear another phone ringing and wants to see the caller ID before it starts ringing on their phone. If this is the case, set it to immediate ringing, so they can see the caller ID

2. Your lines from the telco do not have Caller ID enabled.

3. Your Lines in [Lines>Analogue Trunk>Analogue Options>Trunk Type] are set to "Loop Start" instead of "Loop Start ICLID"

These are not the only possible scenarios, but the ones that come to mind.

Please remember... If it's not the way that YOU would do it, that does not necessarily mean it's wrong. EVERYONE knows SOMETHING that you do not.
