I read that the call status application is only able to be running on one PC.

Has anyone tested having it running on several places at once?

We have 5 receptionists, and they neew to know when someone is already on a call.

why don't you use the blf option in softconsole ?
only "but"is you can have a max of 4 softconsoles on one ipoffice
but then you also can use phone manager (pro)
the lite version can have 15 speeddials with blf but the pro version can have a 1000
then you can see if someone is on the phone or DND or whatever
if you want to use call status just try if it works on 5 pc's

Whats the softconsole?

Whats the blf option?

So many questions

softconsole isan licenced application specialy for operators (you still need a physical phone)
but like i said a maximum of 4 softconsole can be used on one ip office
phone manager (pro) is an pc application to use your phone
phone manager lite is a free application
there is also an ip phone manager pro
with this application you don't need a physical phone but you need a sound card and a headset with a microphone on it
blf is busy lamp field
blf give you info about other people attached to your ip office
you can see if people have a call or did set "do not disturbe"

call status seems to not care how many machines its installed on. perhaps you are getting confused with the information that 4.0 does not have Callstatus anymore or support it and its application(SSA) that replaces call status can only be run on 2 machines max?(or is it 1, I forget, but I know there is a limit mentioned)

I belive you can still use Call Status on 4.0.

i have a customer on 2.1(77) with call status running everywhere!!! about 30 users.

ahh ok, i just reread in the tech bulletin for GA of 4.0.

"SSA will replace the Call Status application, which will no longer be supported in the 4.0 release. SSA will not connect to pre 4.0 IP Office systems, Call Status can still be used to monitor those systems."

So it's possible it may still work but they may break it intentionally of unintentionally in a future release..

that makes me feel better about upgrading to 4.0 when it has a few more releases.. was afraid I would lose the usage of call status totally, and be limited to 2 users on SSA..I hope that Call Status continues to work for a while.. and it seems like with the attention they have given to it in the past, it hasn't been supported very well for a while..

Has anyone had Callstatus working on Windows Vista?

Richard
