We have a 561 number and a 954 number that goes to the operator. She wants to able to distinguish between the two. So if a caller calls the 561 number she wants to see that, and be able to answer the phone with the greeting for that number. If it's a 954 caller then she wants to give them a different greeting. Is this possible??

You can change the tag that will display when the call rings in.

Is there documentation on tags and groups? I have no idea how to set it up. This system is sooooo complicated. I hope you guys are getting paid well for this Avaya stuff! :)

In the Incoming Call Route you can program the Tag for the call. Actually, training on the system is key here. Sometimes things are too complicated only because one does not have the training needed to understand. You may want to consider in investing in some training.

What would you all suggest for training? I've read through the help docs, and this forum has REALLY helped me. But still...the system is mysterious to me. :(

you need to register on an official Avaya training course, then you should find that all the info you have gained here switches on the light bulb.

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

Find a certified avaya training partner (Innovatia, Catalyst, etc), register for a class ($$), travel to said class, get taught. Who knows, maybe i'll be teaching you! :)

Or get your BP to help with the setup if you cannot wait for the training. Knowledge is a good thing to acquire and i hope you will appreciate it once you attend the training.
