This seems like it ought to be easy, but we just can't seem to get it right.

We have not had a dedicated receptionist in our company for a long time and have relied on a sequential hunt group for answering phones. We now have a receptionist, so we are trying to get all calls to ring to her desk, even if she is on another call. If she is tied up on multiple calls, a new call will need to eventually roll to the sequential hunt group. My question is this:

What is the best way to do this? Should she be in a hunt group at all? Should VM manager be set up to route calls to her, then a hunt group? Thanks in advance for the help.

FYI...we're using IP Office 6.1 and have VoiceMail Pro Client 4.1

Put the receptionist in a HG by herself, make HG collective call waiting, set the old sequential HG (recpetionist should not be in this group) as the overflow group for the new HG, set the overflow timer to the desired amount of time, and calls will overflow to the sequential group. Set incoming call route to the new recpetion HG.

With the exception of removing the recpetionist from the old sequential group, all the programming is in the new group.

I have the same question. Does this change give multiple call appearances before ringing to the next group?

Yes, thats what the call waiting part of collective call waiting is :)
