Hi all,

I looking at getting call recording configured for an Avaya IP 500. We have 40 users connected to it and would like to record all calls. Does anyone have any experience of this? There isn't alot of money available to throw at the project so looking at a bit of a ' cheap and cheerful ' system. Can anyone recommend anything? Is there such a thing like ... a second-hand system where licenses can be transferred between companies? I think the answer will be no but just asking anyway :)

More important than users is how many external lines do you have?

Hi IPGuru,
Thanks

We have 2 ISDN30 connected so 60 lines. We only really use 30 - 40 at any given time though.

in my opinion you would be best served by a line side recorder.

VM Pro & contact store with sufficient capacity to handle 40 calls would probably be more expensive (& would probably not operate as well either)

Thanks again,

How do you mean? Is this something that connects to the phones rather than done directly on the switch? That might work well because it only a small department that we 'really' need recording. Can you give me some more information please?

a lineside call recorder connects to your incoming telephone lines (the clue is in the name).
I strongly suggest rou pass this requirement on to your maintainer who will advise you on what options they have available
