We have a cordless phone that we would like to pickup from time to time from our desk phones. We would just like to hit one of the buttons on the phone and have it pick up that extension. What is the easiest way of accomplishing this. IPO 406/5610sw

create a short code for that user of....

Code: *
Feature: Call Pickup Extn
Telephone#: 1234(Extension you want to Pickup)

I am just using * as an example, so in this case if you heard extension 1234 ringing you could press talk on your analog phone and then press * and you would be talking to the person that was ringing 1234.

I personally wouldnt use star, if you use star, you wouldnt be able to dial any other short codes from that phone, so you could may be use #.

Can I use this shortcode as a button on the phone?

you can use any shortcode as a button by simply programming a button with the "Dial" feature and put the shortcode in the "telephone number/action data" field.

i tested the short code i have above. if you use this short code, whenever you press talk or on or however you get dial tone, and then press star it will pickup that ext 1234 if it is ringing.

My users just use *30

Its the standard shortcode for "call pick any"

That will pickup any call that is ringing. Works fine in a small office.

call pick up members works well also for calls to members of a group, whether the call is to the HG or not.

Used Directed Call pickup and works great
