I've been tasked with setting up a button on user phones that will allow them to answer calls ringing to specific extensions. I have tried using the short code *32*N#, but immediately after prompting for the extension to be entered, it says "Invalid entry" and hangs up. I also can't seem to find a button preset for it under Action. I'm running on 6 hours sleep over the last 3 days, so I am sure I am looking right at it and don't see it.

Just use a user button.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Doesn't a User button only work with a single Extension?

Yes.

Create a system shortcode like this:

Short Code: *89*N#
Telephone Number: N
Feature: CallPickupUser

Or:
Short Code: *89XXX (XXX = internal user phone number length, 3X = 3 digits, 4X = 4 digits etc.)
Telephone Number: N
Feature: CallPickupUser

You can pickup a ringing call or parked call of that user.

Or program a button with the feature "Directed Call Pickup" without a telephone number

That would be great, except they need to be able to answer different extensions. If I use this method, I would have to program pages worth of buttons. I need to set up a button on user phones that will allow them to answer calls ringing to different specific extensions each time the button is used. Basically, I need to make the short code a working button. The users are not trainable enough to use short codes.

not many buttons just one as intrigrant said

Or program a button with the feature "Directed Call Pickup" without a telephone number

then type the extension after pressing that button

Directed Call Pickup" as said (and be more careful with your use of the word specific when you mean different).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Just try the suggestions before comment them, and try to use the F1 button in Manager and find out what the features / buttons actually do.

Never use shortcodes under button programming* all features are available to be programmed & using the correct feature always works better than dialling a short code.

Directed call pickup or cal pickup members are the features most Ilkley to achieve what you require.

* Dial should be used for dialing eternal numbers not shortcodes

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I apologize intrigrant, star for you too as you did say to use Directed Call Pickup first.
