i have a setup of three hunt groups, all with these comon settings

ring mode: collective
overflow mode: call
no answer time: 6sec (set to be same as systems no naswer time, also same to individual hunt group members

have set that all incoming calls should be directed to first grou say X, then Y and finally to Z ( each after 6sec if not answered)
unfortunately calls keep moving between groups X and Y and they never go to Z ( ie calls move from X to Y and then back to X without being presented to Z)

what is the cause of this

that wont work.
it only overflows once then follows all the groups in order in this group

in the first overflow group put Y,and Z in then same group.
this way the call will flow from X then to Y then Z

main group
over flow---group2
group3
group4

thanks snowman50, thats what i have done
main group X
overflow groups Y and Z are listed in the overflow group list of X

OR snowman50, you mean i should combine the groups Y and Z into same group say M=(Y+Z)?

X will only overflow to Y. Y will only overflow to Z in your set-up. A call to X is a call to X, not Y. So, it will only overflow to Y. You have Y as first overflow of X, add Z as a secondary overflow. You can add multiple groups to an overflow.

Telecomboy
in my setup, i have Y and Z as overflow groups of X, Y being the first in list and Z the second on same list

do you mean this setup?

Yes. Sorry, I misread how you had it set-up. No answer time does not apply to a collective group. What is your overflow time set to on group x?

I think I mis read this as well

I thought you meant group x overflow to group y then y has overflow to another group z.

Just go to main group x
Set overflow to y and z in same section
Which is what you have done.

I was trying this out yesterday and it worked ok

Yes snowman50 thats what i have done and it keeps as pointed above. dou you this may be timing isues?

Telecomboy.
i have not enabled the oveflow time as i thought the no answer time will apply. If i have to set it, should i set it for each hunt group ie X, Y and Z or just for X?

ALL settngs are all taken from the Primary group, the only setting taken from the overflow groups are their ring patterns
