Call fowarding to outside number rings then busy signal

I have a number, 65878 that forwards to an outside line that happens to be a fax line. When I call the number it forwards like it should but as soon as the fax tone starts I get a busy signal. I have the prefix in the ars table with the correct rout pattern. What am I doing wrong? For privacy reasons I've replaced the calling number with xxx in the list trace.

What happens when you dial the outside fax line number directly? Does it also busy out? Can you try it from a Cell phone, does it do the same thing?

No it does not busy out, and the trace is from a cell phone.

Your denial event translates to this

Registration rejected because of invalid
set type or no Remote Office assignment
on the station form.

You could look at the denial events and post the cause value to see if that can be interpreted further.

The station is a virtual station and I don't use IP Office.

It also sounds like there are two rings going on at the same time.

ip office ??? . right ok back to basics can you plug a normal phone(or test butt) where the fax is and dial the virtual station and take the call normally?

I said IP Office b/c when I searched for "invalid set type" or "no Remote Office assignment" all that came up was stuff regarding IP Office.

ok right what i meant was , type display events , you can then filter down to denial and get cause codes that can be interpreted from the communication manager denial events document. But can you complete the process in my first post.?

I can't really do some of your troubleshooting steps because I am not at that location. I can however dial the fax from my cell and it work fine.

I have seen this before with virtual station, make it a x ported station with coverage page going to the dest and see if that works
