I have a problem dialing to the 253 area code from one of my locations. The other locations can call this number. My main location cannot. It drops the last three numbers and gives a busy signal. I cannot figure out why. Listed below is the trace I performed.

:59:27 xoip: fax:pT modem:pT tty:US 10.3.0.35:34096 uid:0x8bb5
14:59:28 dial 91253242 route:pREFIX|FNPA|ARS
14:59:28 term trunk-group 3 cid 0x218
14:59:28 dial 912532428879 route:pREFIX|FNPA|ARS
14:59:28 route-pattern 13 preference 1 cid 0x218
14:59:28 seize trunk-group 3 member 4 cid 0x218
14:59:32 dial 912532428879 route:pREFIX|FNPA|ARS
14:59:32 outpulse done 12532428879

I checked the ars digit conversion table and nothing is in there. There is nothing in the ars ana table that would deny it either.

Any help you can provide is welcome.

Thanks,
Mickey

Hey Mickey,

I don't see any problem here at all. It appears that the number you are dialling is 1 (253) 242 8879 which is what is sent.
If you are refereing to the line "dial 91253242 route:pREFIX|FNPA|ARS" this is just the PBX deciding what route pattern and trunk group to use to send the call over.

What is the area code that you are calling from? You may have to use Partition Routing if your sites have different area codes.

Kevin

I am dialing from the 650 area code.

I am referring to 91253242. When I dial other numbers long distance, it doesn't truncate it like it does for that area code.

I dialed redial via the phone so I don;t think it is a slow input.

I will check partition routing.

Partition routing tables are empty, so nothing is holding it up there. I even put the number into ars ana loc 1 and I still get the busy signal.

Can it be something on the PRI preventing the call? If so, I will give AT&T a call up and see what they can do .

mickaloha... can you copy/paste route-pattern 13? And is TG # 3 an ISDN TG? If not you can TAC out of the trunk and see what happens.

TG3 is a wink/wink. The actual LD line is a tie trunk, not a PRI. Listed below is route pattern 13 along with the first page of trunk group 3.

I know this may be a lot to ask but if the location having trouble dialing area code 253 a Media Gateway, S8xxx Server or Gx Cabinet?

S8700 running CM 4.0.4 and the card is an old 464F.

I'm not sure of where to check for this but what is the location associated with the S87xx Server in question? If you are able to retrieve that then run the same commands you run associated with the ARS tables. For instance, 'change ars analysis 1253 location X' or just 'list ars analysis location X' and see if anything may be administered for 253 area code. I know if there is nothing administered for a given location then the default ars table takes precedence.
